Hanging & Care
A thoughtful installation protects your chime and the space around it. Follow any instructions supplied with the particular item first.

Choose a secure support
Use a sound fixed support and a hook or fitting rated appropriately for the item and the surface. Do not suspend a chime from loose trim, a temporary adhesive or a fragile branch without confirming suitability. If you are unsure about the wall, ceiling or fixing, ask a qualified installer. Mounting hardware is not included unless expressly stated.
Give every moving element room
Check the full movement range before leaving the chime unattended. Keep it away from windows, doors, sharp edges and passing people. Avoid locations directly above a cot, bed, food-preparation area or seating position. Hanging cords and small parts are not suitable playthings; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
Begin in a sheltered position
Where no specific exposure guidance is provided, avoid sustained wet weather, strong wind, frost, direct water spray and coastal salt. Bring the chime in before storms. Outdoor styling in a picture is not a weather-resistance rating. Placement should also respect shared-space rules and neighbors.
Routine checks
- Look over the hanging loop, cord, knots, joints and support regularly.
- Remove the item from use if you see fraying, cracks, loose parts or another concern.
- Untangle gently while supporting the piece rather than pulling on a pendant.
- Do not add extra weight or modify the suspension without appropriate guidance.
Cleaning & storage
Start with a dry, soft cloth and gentle dust removal. Do not assume that soaking, detergent, polish, bleach or abrasive treatment is appropriate for an unknown finish. Follow item-specific instructions for any further cleaning. Store dry in a stable container, separating hanging elements so they do not strike one another. Keep the suspension untensioned and avoid heavy items pressing on it.
When to ask for help
If a fitting is missing, a component is damaged or the care requirements are unclear, stop using the chime and contact us with its name and a description. Do not attempt an unsafe repair or leave a damaged item hanging.
